BDOS coming in October!
(Big Day of Serving)

Our last BDOS
April 18, 2026
The Nehemiah Initiative BDOS on April 18, 2026 was probably one of our best days. Volunteers from all over Altus came together to help 7 homeowners with projects they could not do for themselves.
At one location, we framed in some windows to better dress the home. We had 6 indivuals working together to finish 9 windows. Within 4 hours, we completed all of the framing and they were ready for painting.
Painting at one home went extremely well because of a dedicated volunteers who bonded together as a team and finished some trim on a home making it stand out in the neighborhood. It improved the look of the home and the community. They had a good time working hard and ready to help the next homeowner.

We spent time cleaning up debris at 3 different properties. This was difficult work made easy by dedicate volunteers happy to make a difference in the community. Cleaning up a property helps the homeowner regain pride in their home and feel really good about the way it looks. You can tell from their smiles they appreciate the work.

We able to complete these projects due to the compassion and selfless sacrifice of people donating their time and energy to the community. We would like to invite you to our next BDOS October2026 from 8am to 12pm, meeting at 7:45 at 1308 Alta St., Altus, OK.
Next BDOS: October, 2026 (Saturday)
We are working on our next BDOS to be held in October 2026, on a Saturday to be determined from 8 am to 12pm (or whenever we get to a stopping point). We meet at 1308 Alta Street, Unit 17 between 7:45am and 8am, complete some paperwork, have a prayer, and get assignments for the morning then go to the different projects.

AFFECTING COMMUNITY
Nehemiah Initiative affects the community in many ways. One way is to bring members of the community with a heart of helping others together to help homeowners needing help with tasks they can no longer do for themselves.
Another way we affect community is by bringing people together to build community. The church is not just the building we worship in but it is the people who come together and show the grace of God to others.
19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. 20 For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
