BDOS coming in October!
(Big Day of Serving)

Our last BDOS
October 11, 2025
The Nehemiah Initiative BDOS on October 11, 2025 was a great success. Volunteers from all over Altus came together to help 10 homeowners with projects they could not do for themselves.
At one location, we rebuilt a deck for the Dream Big Project Management Community Center making it safer for the community to use and increase the quaility of the structure. The construction team was very effective and worked well together.
Painting at one home went extrememly well becasue of a dedicated volunteers who bonded together as a team and finished some trim on a home making it stand out in the neighborhood. It improved the look of the home and the community. They had a good time working hard and ready to help the next homeowner.
Another project was making some windows look better. some new windows needed trim to finish off the project and we had some skilled and not so skilled workers working on this task. This team was engaged in teaching techniques to individuals not familiar with construction projects and did an outstanding job of making the home look better. the homeowner was very satisfied with the results.
We completed many projects on this day due to the compassion and selfless sacrifice donating their time and energy to the community. We would like to invite you our next BDOS on April 18, 2026 from 8am to 12pm, meeting at 7:45 at 1308 Alta St., Altus, OK.

AFFECTING COMMUNITY
Nehemiah Initiative affects the community in many ways. One way is to bring members of the community with a heart of helping others together to help homeowners needing help with tasks they can no longer do for themselves.
Another way we affect community is by bringing people together to build community. The church is not just the building we worship in but it is the people who come together and show the grace of God to others.
19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. 20 For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
