Safety Information

We take your safety seriously

We have partnered with Southwest Technology Center to help us keep you safe when you are working in the community.

When working on a project, it is important to remember that you and you alone are responsible for your safety.  If you do not feel safe, then back out of the situation and get some help.  Stay vigilant and watch others around you.  Here are some other tips.

  1. Make sure you are prepared for the task, have all of the correct tools/equipment, and wear appropriate clothing.  Wearing flip flops and cut off shorts is not appropriate for using a chainsaw.
  2. Ask questions when there is doubt.  There will be someone to guide you when you are working with Nehemiah Initiative; don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Thinking safety…

Know your emergency procedures

Accidents will happen.  Be prepared for that eventuality.  Know how to contact emergency personnel.

Safety is everyone’s concern

We should all be keeping everyone safe starting with ourselves and then those around us.  Do not be afraid to raise the alarm.

The ever allusive Awth (Accident waiting to happen) is is hard to see but is always around and ready to take action.  Take action first and stay ahead of the Awth!  Look for things seen and unseen.
